Suitable for a Paleo, vegan, ketogenic and low-carb/dairy lifestyles
Baking is one of life’s simple pleasures. However, when switching to a fitter, healthier
lifestyle or when suffering from lactose/gluten intolerance and egg allergies, there are a
diverse variety of substitute options at your local grocery store – no matter where you are.
When choosing substitutes, it’s important to read up on the correct recipes and the
corresponding measurements. As an experiment, I had tried to substitute a variety of these
products into my regular baking recipes and ended up with a disaster. The only situation
where standard recipe protocols can be replaced to the letter are with whole-wheat flours
and white whole-wheat. Even whole meal or standard brown whole-wheat needs to be combined
with all-purpose to make something out of nothing.
